Average life expectancy of the Japanese has now reached to almost 80 years
old. We need to reflect upon ourselves how we would make use of affordable
time we have hereafter.
NALC as NPO, is an unique organization which volunteers join, preferably
with their spouses, under a motto of "Self help, Voluntariness and
Mutual help". NALC encourages one to find joy in contributing to the
people and to the society through one's voluntary activities along with
"Be active lifelong" as password.
Self help
It implies staying healthy and independent spiritually enough to lead high
quality of life.
Voluntariness
It implies finding joy in contributing to the society as lifelong volunteers.
Mutual help
It implies that members help members on mutual basis for better life under
Time Dollar system.

Its general meeting takes place annually to discuss on activity schemes,
accounting and budgeting of the year, and elects directors of the board.
Prior to the general meeting, activity schemes are deliberated at local
chapter representatives' s meetings, which then are finalized at the board
of directors, before they are put into practice.

life, bring together to contribute to the society with mutual helps and
services to local communities.
For example, NALC members volunteer for------
Trimming of garden trees, help of housekeeping, escorting,
companion of talking, cleaning of parks, support of childcare,
helping at care centers or welfare facilities.
Voluntary activities under Time Dollar System is currently operated in
138 locations in 40 administrative districts. NALC is aiming at developing
1000 locations in the near future so as to establish a nationwide network
of NPO volunteers.
In an incident of The Great Hanshin Earthquake in 1995, 4,500 members of
NALC length participated in disaster relief activities for over 2 years,
rendering services for a total of 20,000 hours time at their own expenses.
( NALC received a letter of appreciation from the Welfare Minister.)
